Sendy, the logistics platform has entered into an agreement with the Nairobi County which has provided additional licenses to top performing motorcycle drivers on their platform, allowing them to access the Nairobi Central Business District. This comes shortly after the County government banned all motorcycle riders without licences from accessing the CBD.

Sendy which has adhered to the requirements set by the county, now has over 150 riders with licences able to access the CBD, making it one of the few logistics companies with access to the CBD.

Under the agreement, riders who have a rating of 4 stars and above on the platform have been provided with branding licences with each licence costing KSh. 9,100 annually. The license fee has been covered by Sendy.

Sendy Founder and CEO Mr. Meshack Alloys, had this to say, “The Nairobi Central Business district is considered the hub of many small and medium sized businesses. For this reason, we have taken the initiative to issue our top performing motorcycle drivers with licences that will allow them access to the CBD and complete deliveries there. For our drivers, this amounts to more income, seeing that a high concentration of Nairobi’s businesses are based in the CBD. For our customers, this means that through Sendy, they are able to deliver in and outside of the CBD more efficiently.”
