Safaricom has partnered with Showmax to offer its Home Fibre customers one month unlimited access to the video on demand service for free.
All Safaricom Home Fibre customers will automatically receive a link to the Showmax service once they renew their subscription through M-PESA between 24th March and 15th May 2019. Customers can further extend the validity of their subscription to the service for Ksh. 250 per month by dialling *400*3# and selecting the Showmax option.
Showmax is a video-on-demand service that launched in Kenya in 2016. They have a variety of video content including movies, TV shows and kiddie content that can be watched on demand. The service can be accessed via a range of devices that include smartphones, tablets computers, web browsers, Smart TVs, Android Boxes, iPads among others. Showmax allows its customers to use its service from up to 5 devices and to stream from two devices simultaneously.
Content available on Showmax include the 7 seasons of Game of Thrones, Hollywood movies such as the Hobbit movies, Jack Reacher, The Hitman’s Bodyguard. There are also Kenyan movies on Showmax such as Supa Modo, Nairobi Half Life, KatiKati and the Flesh Business and Kenyan TV shows Auntie Boss, Kona, Sumu la Penzi and Churchill.
Safaricom Home Fibre provides home internet to about 200,000 homes across the country. It is available in the following towns; Nairobi, Thika, Nakuru, Mombasa, Kisumu, Naivasha, Kericho, Nyeri, Embu, Meru, Bungoma, Kakamega, Eldoret, Kitale and Nanyuki.
