Airtel becomes the 2nd Telco after Safaricom to increase its prices to reflect the new taxes introduced by the Finance Act 2018.
Calls and mobile internet bundles on Airtel Kenya will increase effective today by 30 cents each and SMS prices will go up by 10 cents.
However, the prices of all voice and data bundles including Unliminet, Tubonge and Amazing Data bundles remain unchanged. Airtel Money charges will also remain the same.
The Finance Act increased Excise Duty tax on Calls, SMS and Internet from 10% to 15%. Additionally, a 15% Excise Duty tax on internet services was introduced.
Telkom Kenya has also increased the price of its services.
