South Africa’s Shoprite Holdings plans to enter the Kenyan market later this year. CEO Pieter Engelbrecht announced the new development as he released the financial results of the company.
The company plans to take advantage of weakened positions of supermarket chains in Kenya to get a way in. It has apparently already secured seven sites and leases in preparation for the launch later this year.
