Maia Von Lekow’s newly released sophomore album, Maia and The Big Sky has been released on vinyl and is now available for sale in the Kenya.

In an interview with Nomad Magazine, Maia described the album as an homage to re-connecting with her Mijikenda roots and the rich music of the community. Other influences on the album include jazz, reggae, funk and folk music.

Her debut album, Drift, explored her struggle with identity and trying to fit in as a Kenyan due to her mixed race. Maia has performed in several festivals in Kenya and beyond, the Harare International Festival in Zimbabwe being her most memorable gig.
