Mwikali Muthaini has been appointed to succeed Nicole Bieske as Amnesty International Board Chair. The International Board consists of 9 members who are elected to the board during the biennial International Council meeting. Members can serve a maximum of two terms. Muthaini has been a member of the International Board since March 2012.

Muthaini has had a successful 20 year career in human resource, previously working as Nation Media Group’s Human Resource Director for five years. She’s held other positions at top companies including Action Aid and GlaxoSmithKline as a human resource manager and HR director respectively. She is also the founder & managing director at MillennialHR, a human resources Consultancy firm based in Nairobi.

Muthaini is also a board member of Faulu Bank and has served in the international board of Africa Medical Research Foundation (AMREF) for six years.
