Safaricom which is the telecommunications sponsor for the Barclays Kenya Open has today announced a Ksh. 3.5 Million sponsorship. The 49th edition of the tournament is scheduled to take place at the Muthaiga Golf Club from Thurday 23rd to Sunday 26th March. As part of the sponsorship, Safaricom will provide a fully kitted media center and wireless connectivity to the secretariat, clubhouse and the village for the duration of the tournament.

Safaricom has so far invested a total of Ksh. 15 Million in sponsoring the tournament over the last three years. This is in line with the telcos desire to support events that raise Kenya’s profile as a choice destination for golf professionals and enthusiasts, as well as create broader appeal for the sport locally.

Pro Am tournaments will however be starting tomorrow and Jay Jay Okocha will be in attendance so pass by and watch him play.
