Pay TV company DSTv has announced a reduction in the prices of its TV packages a year after increasing them. The new prices are more or less what they were last year before the price increase. The new prices will be effective from November 1st 2016.
DSTv will also add new channels to its packages to go with the price reduction which is a strategy to get more customers to sign up.
The price increase last year angered many customers who either downgraded or stopped using their services altogether. DSTv is struggling sub-Saharan Africa and they have lost about 288,000 customers in 2016 according to Naspers CEO Bob Van Dijk. Naspers is DSTv’s parent company.
Here are the new prices compared to the old ones.
