Orange Telkom Kenya CEO, Mickael Ghossein hands over High Blood Pressure testing kits to Panpath Holdings, Technical and Operations Manager, Kevin Okinyo.

120 Diabetic families in Nairobi County are the beneficiaries of High Blood Pressure kits worth Kshs. 600,000 donated by Orange. The testing kits will be distributed to these families via Panpath Holdings; an accredited regional supplier of Medical hardware equipment.

“Our collaboration with Panpath Holdings in the donation of the home testing kits is one of the avenues we are using to support healthcare provision through new technologies for early disease diagnosis, prevention and management,” says Mickael Ghossein, Orange CEO.

Managing Director, Panpath Holdings, Solomon Babashi says that they are committed to providing early medical health diagnostics to ensure early detection of diseases such as Diabetes.

Diabetes, is a non-communicable disease, and is a threat to national development as it often results in long-standing complications that are costly to treat. Statistics for how many people live with diabetes is not accurate, most people are afraid to get help or make it public. The move by Ornage to provide testing kits in the home will go a long way in saving lives particularly for those scared of revealing they suffer from diabetes.
