A firmware update is now available in Kenya for the Samsung Galaxy S4. The firmware is 370.49MB in size. It is available for download through OTA (Over-The-Air) or via the Samsung Kies PC suite.
The S4, when released, had a few shortcomings which this update hopes to fix.
For instance:
- The 16GB version had a lot of bloatware and users were only left with 9.15GB as internal storage.
- The S4 also didn’t support the transfer of apps and games to the SD card.
- The camera app had issues and it sometimes restarted the phone.
Users can expect the following improvements after installing the firmware update (as reported by sammobile:
- New Camera firmware
- Smearing issue has been fixed (Purple effect while scrolling)
- Smart Pause Toggle
- Move Apps to SD Card
- HDR Video (Can record HDR video)
- Semi-transparent status bar
- New Icons in Settings
- Secure boot status (About Phone)
- Increase legibility (Display) (New feature)
- More internal storage: From 9.15GB to 9.23GB.
