Showmax has announced that its new TV show, Adam to Eve, an inventive Kenyan series is scheduled to premiere on November 26, 2025.

The show stars Blessing Lungaho (Untying Kantai) as Adam, a charming but misogynistic Nairobi playboy whose life of treating women as “disposable pleasure items” is violently interrupted. A mysterious curse transforms him into a woman, Eve, turning his world upside down and forcing him to confront the very prejudice he embodied.

Produced by Historia Films, Adam to Eve follows Adam as he must now navigate society as Eve. To reclaim his former self, he must team up with his introverted twin brother and embark on a mission of good deeds, self-discovery, and redemption. The series promises a journey that is both comical and deeply transformative, blending heartfelt storytelling with sharp social commentary.

The series boasts an impressive ensemble cast featuring some of Kenya’s finest talent:

  • Kalasha winners Ellah Maina (Sincerely Daisy) and Celestine Gachuhi (Selina).
  • Kalasha nominee Kieran Ratanya (Varshita).
  • Mathew Ngugi (MTV Shuga Mashariki), Gashiki Gashiki (Haki Mwitu), Mucheru Kamau (Njoro wa Uba), Kevin Ogutu (Jela 5 Star), Winnie Anyango (Real Housewives of Kawangware), Marya Okoth (Nurse Toto), Robert Agengo (Qware), and Chris Kamau (Country Queen).

The project is helmed by the critically acclaimed creative power couple Lizz Njagah (Executive Producer) and Alex Konstantaras (Head Writer and Co-Director), known for their work on House of Lungula. Alex Konstantaras leads the writing team. They are  supported by Yafesi Musioke, Serah Mwihaki (Single Kiasi), Rose Njoroge (who also appears in the series), Lily Wanjiku (Sue na Johnnie), Tony Koros (Tithes and Offerings), and George Salt. UK-based filmmaker Aggie Nyagari (Janjaruka) directs the show alongside Konstantaras.

Lizz Njagah highlighted the series’ core message, stating, “At its heart, Adam to Eve is a story about walking in someone else’s shoes quite literally. It uses humor to spark reflection on how we perceive gender and privilege, while reminding us that change often begins with understanding.”

Alex Konstantaras added that the goal was to “blend fantasy and comedy with socially resonant themes.” He concluded, “The series is unapologetically funny, deeply Kenyan, and reflective of the vibrant, evolving conversations happening across Africa about identity and equality.”

Adam to Eve will be available to stream exclusively on Showmax starting November 26, 2025.
