Jerotich Seii has been a thorn on the side of Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja . She has taken to Twitter to lament on the state of urban planning in Nairobi.

She has taken issue with the construction going on in Kilimani and other parts of Nairobi and has constantly asked the Governor to take action and follow the law and laid down guidelines in issuing permits for the construction of buildings in Nairobi.

Sakaja did not take the criticism kindly. He blocked Jerotich.

Jerotich later went to Spice FM on the Situation Room show with Eric Latiff, Ndu Okoh and CT Muga. She spoke in detail about the woes of the residents of Kilimani and the Chinese Property Developers Association which has undertaken quite a few developments in the area against the wishes of the residents.

Johnson Sakaja has now filed a lawsuit against Jerotich Seii and the Standard Group PLC, seeking a sum of Ksh. 100 million in damages. He references the conversation that Jerotich had on the radio show.

Sakaja contends that the statements that were made by Jerotich on the radio show were slanderous and targeted his integrity and his administration’s dealings with property developers in Nairobi. The Nairobi Governor has taken exception to comments that he is favouring foreign developers over Kenyan residents and that apparently he has left Kilimani resident WhatsApp groups after he was called out on Twitter.
