Tusk, The Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Safaricom and Huawei have announced that the Lewa Safari Marathon will be held on Saturday 24th June 2023. Safaricom has committed to invest Ksh. 10 million in the marathon.
The Lewa marathon has raised millions of dollars to fund wildlife conservation and community development in Kenya over the last 24 years. The annual event has hosted runners of all abilities for almost two and a half decades, from elite professionals like Marathon World Record Holder Eliud Kipchoge, to amateur runners and walkers alike.
Interested runners can register for the marathon on the Lewa Safari Marathon website, and make their contribution towards conservation of iconic and critically endangered wildlife including, Grevy’s Zebra, Lions, Elephants and Giraffes.

The conservancy is home to some of the rarest wildlife and we know through our support and that of Safaricom, a difference has been made in preserving these iconic species for future generations as well as the surrounding communities”
Since its inception in 2000 the marathon has raised over $8 million dollars in support of conservation and community initiatives throughout Kenya. Nearly $4 million dollars have been invested in the direct protection of endangered species, other wildlife and their habitats.
The marathon will take place at Lewa Wildlife Conservancy on 24th June. Registrations for the marathon will open on March 15 at lewasafarimarathon.co.ke.
