As part of the skill-based competition dubbed Total Quartz Golden Spanner Competition, 24 mechanics were in Nairobi at the Ngong Toyota service center for the 1st evaluation by Toyota Academy trainers. The mechanics had a chance to showcase their prowess for a chance to walk away with a Single Cabin Toyota Hilux, a revamp of their garage, and mechanical skills certification.

For the 20 regions in the campaign, winners will walk away with the Yamaha YBR 125G. How to apply
To enter the competition as a mechanic, participants should just purchase any Total Quartz engine oil and send the shortcode to 40743. Upon sending the shortcode to 40743, the mechanic will receive two sets of questions to respond to. Based on the number of correct answers given, the mechanic earns points. The highest score gets a ticket into the competition. Any mechanic across the country can take part in the competition, as everyone has an equal opportunity of emerging winners and getting the coveted skills.
