Truecaller has announced that it has reached over 100 million active users. The company claims to have acquired these customers in less than a year. Truecaller is a caller ID confirmation app. It also recently announced it’s plans to set up its Sub-Saharan headquarters in Nairobi in February.

The company apparently has more than 20% of his user base in Africa, with 6 million customers in Kenya alone. The app has also apparently blocked and filtered out more than 4.4 million calls and 14 million spam SMS on a monthly basis.

Alan Mamedi, CEO & co-founder of Truecaller, had this to say about the announcement  “We’re continuously working to make communications safer and efficient and the fact that we have so many users validates our mission. We’re excited to see what the next decade and 100 million users bring us. So to all millions of users who helped us get here we would like to say thank you,”
