The Bloggers Association of Kenya (BAKE) has today announced that the voting phase of this year’s blog awards has kicked off. This year over 10,000 blogs were submitted which goes to show how much the space has grown.
In the past, individuals tried to cheat the system by voting more than once. To counter this BAKE has this year introduced SMS vote verification which will ensure that voting will be limited to one vote per person.
Judges this year included; Michelle Slater, Sally Kahiu, Ahmed Salim, Jackson Biko, Dr. Martin Mburu, Naomi Mutua, Muthoni Maingi, Demas Kiprono, Samuel Majani, Shitemi Khamadi, Samuel Mbugua and Naomi Mutua.
Safaricom has sponsored this year’s BAKE awards to the tune of Ksh. 3.1 Million. Other sponsors include Gates Foundation, EatOut Kenya, The Ford Motor Company, ShowMax, Xpose, Vivienne Taa and The Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC).
