My dad has played a huge role in my life, molding me into the kind of person I am today. Words cannot entirely express what he means to me. On this Father’s Day, I want to appreciate my dad by listing 10 things that I thank my dad for.

1. Being supportive

My dad has always been supportive of everything I did from when I was in nursery school until now. He has taught me to believe in myself and made me feel like I could do anything, do anything I put my mind to. To be honest the man is and has always been my number 1 fan.

2. Teaching me

Dad started by teaching me how to walk, supporting me as I made my first feeble steps. He taught me how to ride a bike and when I was old enough, a car. He also helped me with my homework on most nights.

3. Protecting me

When I got into trouble dad was always there to bail me out. He protected me when I got myself in fixes that I couldn’t get myself out of. I always knew there was someone I could call when I needed help.

4. Loving me at my best and worst

His love for me has never wavered. His love has always been constant over the years even in the times when I messed up spectacularly. He got really mad at me at those times but he always explained that he loved me.

5. Just being there

My dad was there for me all the time. When it was something couldn’t help with he just communicated that he was there for support and would be on call for as long as I wanted.

6. Leading by example

My dad absolutely treasured my mum. This was my first lesson as to how to treat people I love.

Well those are my reasons for being thankful to my dad. What are your reasons? Share in the comments section below & the 5 most creative will win Ksh. 500 airtime courtesy of Safaricom.
