Glovo has released pizza consumption trends in Kenya and apparently chicken pizza is the most popular pizza flavour in the market.
The data by Glovo shows chicken pizza was the most ordered flavour, with over 15,960 deliveries, followed by Pepperoni and Margarita.
Data shows that Kenyans are big fans of this Pizza and, in a12 month period, they have ordered more than 135,000 pizzas through Glovo. This means that Glovo has delivered 370 pizzas per day or 15 pizzas per hour in the country. The golden minute consumption was on Huduma day, last year on 10th October, at 14:48h where 36 pizzas were ordered at that particular minute.
Tuesday was the day with the highest pizza consumption, accounting for 33% of the total orders, followed by Sundays as the second most in-demand option, with 17% of the total. This could be attributed to the fact that on Tuesdays and Thursdays there is the buy one get one free offer where several Glovo partners offer 2×1 deals, making it the perfect day for people to order pizza.
“Glovo has partnered with key pizza outlets to support the growth of the delivery industry. We are seeing more customers opt to make their orders online, as evidenced by the number of pizzas we have delivered in the last 12 months, says Caroline Mutuku, General Manager of Glovo Kenya. ”
Nairobi and Mombasa were the top two cities with the highest pizza consumption while the user who ordered the most pizzas placed 124 orders during this one year period.
