Huawei Mobile Kenya has announced that the Huawei Y5 2019 is now available for sale in Kenya retailing at Kshs 11,499 across all retail stores, and including online on Jumia. The new device falls in the Y series family following previous launches of Huawei Y9 2019, Y7 Prime 2019, Y6 Prime 2019, Y5 Prime 2019 respectively in Kenya.

Huawei earlier in the month launched a one week campaign on their social media platforms encouraging consumers to guess the price of the device ahead of its launch later in the month. The winners of the price guess campaign walked away with various giveaways including a Huawei Y5.

The phone comes is a Dual SIM and comes with Android 9 Pie operating system. It also has a 13 Megapixel back camera, 5 megapixel selfie camera, 32GB internal storage, 2GB RAM and a non-removable 3020 mAh battery.

Huawei is in the middle of a trade war between the US and China that has seen Google announce that it will drop it from the Android program. This has been suspended for 90 days but according to Huawei CEO this will not hinder their business in the long run.
