Twitter Lite, the data saving app version of popular Social Media platform, is now available in Kenya and 20 other countries. The app was first launched in April 2017.

The other countries include: Argentina, Belarus, Dominican Republic, Ghana, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Romania, Turkey, Uganda, Ukraine, Uruguay, Yemen, and Zimbabwe. The app is now available in more than 45 countries.

The apps features include:

  • Data saver:  By enabling Data saver, you can control which images and videos load on your phone. You can still load all this content at any time by hitting “Load image” or “Load video”.
  • Built for 2G and 3G networks: It loads quickly on unreliable networks.
  • Storage space: At an install size of 3MB, it saves on storage space.
  • Bookmarks: Bookmarks is an easy-to-use feature that allows you to save important Tweets for later, for when you have more data or a better internet connection.
  • Push notifications: Twitter Lite supports push notifications, allowing you to keep up with what’s happening around the world.
  • Night mode: Night mode gives your timeline a darker theme, which is easier on your eyes and easier to read — even during the day.
  • Threads: Threaded Tweets are now available on Twitter Lite! We’ve made it easy to create a thread by adding a plus button in the composer, so you can connect your thoughts and publish your threaded Tweets all at the same time.

You can download the Twitter Lite app from the Google Play Store here.
