Telkom Kenya which rebranded from Orange after acquisition by Helios has added two independent members to its Board. These are Mrs. Dorcas Kombo and Mr. Jinaro Kibet. The two bring the total number of board members to nine.
Dorcas Kombo
Mrs. Dorcas Kombo is a fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants, and an associate of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya. She is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya as well as the Institute of Directors. She has vast experience in auditing and human resources consulting, having worked at Deloitte and later at Coopers & Lybrand as an Audit Manager before the merger to form PricewaterhouseCoopers.
As a management consultant under Meltis Consulting, she has worked with similar firms to deliver human resources and organisational development services to governments, public and private sector organisations across Africa.
Mrs. Kombo is also part of the KenGen board, a position she has held from 2005. During her tenure on the board, she has chaired the Human Resources Committee for two terms and is currently the Chair of the Audit and Risk Management Committee.
Jinaro Kibet
Mr. Jinaro Kibet, is a partner at TripleOKlaw Advocates, in charge of Corporate and Commercial Law. He is also an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a commissioner for Oaths and Notary Public and has over 26 years of experience in private law practice.
He is a member of the Commonwealth Lawyers Association, the East African Law Society and the Law Society of Kenya. He is a board Member at Unga Group Limited, Prime Bank Limited, Strathmore Business School, Sicham Aviation Limited and Elmarak Holdings Limited and serves as the Chair of the Capital Markets Tribunal.
