Huawei has this week launched the P9 phone into the Kenyan market. This smartphone is targeted at photography lovers, which is practically everyone nowadays. To this end the P9’s camera is co-engineered with the global iconic brand, Leica Camera AG a leading camera producer.
The phone comes with dual camera technology which basically means that one can effectively refocus the picture once taken. The lenses work in harmony to create a composite 12MP image with sharper contrast and better depth of field.
Freddie Zhangxiaolong, Vice Country Director, Huawei Kenya had this to say about the phone, “The Huawei P9 is the first smartphone with an intelligent camera and promises users a unique experience with features such as a hybrid focusing system that allows one to capture those precious fleeting moments in your life”. He continued to say, “When you look at the recent studies done globally, the quality of a smartphone’s camera is the third most important consideration for phone buyers, trailing only 4G/LTE capability and reliability/durability. Smartphone photography is even more popular than Internet browsing, emailing, app downloading, and gaming.”
The Huawei P9 comes with a 5.2-inch 1080p display and will be in six shades; dark grey, silver, gold and haze gold and white. It also boasts of a 64-bit processor, biometric fingerprint scanner on the back and has an aluminum casing.
The phone is available at Safaricom shops and other retail outlets at a price of Kshs.54,999.
