It would be an understatement to say that M-PESA has made life easier. Sending and receiving money via even a feature phone is instant. Not only that, users can also pay bills and even withdraw money from their bank accounts.
A feature that most people are not using is the transfer of money from M-PESA to their back account. All that is needed is the bank’s PayBill number and the account number you want to send the money to. Applications of this would be sending rent money to your landlord’s bank account instead of lining up at the bank.
How to send money to a bank account via M-PESA
- Go to your phone’s M-Pesa menu.
- Select Lipa na M-Pesa
- Select Pay Bill
- Select Business no
- Enter the specific bank’s PayBill number (see list below) and press okay.
- Select Account number.
- Enter the bank account number you intend to send the money to and then press okay.
- Enter the amount
- Enter your M-PESA PIN
- Verify information and press okay.
- You are good to go.
