African Fashion has been making headlines in different parts of the world, and when you see the amazing designs and prints, it is easy to understand why. Countries in West Africa and a bit of the South are definitely ahead when it comes to embracing African Fashion, with others like Kenya and Tanzania fast on track. The numerous ‘Africa Fashion Week’ events being hosted in different cities in the world only point to the global need for Simple, Affordable and Stylish African wear, and the immense growth potential for African designers.

While many people have shied away from African Fashion as a whole, mastering African prints has proved to be one of the easiest ways to celebrate the beauty of what makes us African. African print is a huge part of our culture, and wearing it is a big part of embracing our identities and the beauty that makes us different. If you are able to rock African Fashion with all its bold and diverse prints and designs, then you can no doubt master any other style.

The Africa Fashion Reception to be hosted in Addis Ababa (the African Union Headquarters) is just one of the many events being hosted to help take African Fashion to the world. The African Fashion Reception will see designers from different African countries meet with fashion and business experts from Paris and other parts of the world.

House of Chihera is one of the brands that was chosen to represent Zimbabwe during the African Fashion Reception in Addis Ababa. The African Lifestyle Brand has made great strides in taking African Fashion to the world and it was part of the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Program which seeks to grow 10,000 African entrepreneurs over the next decade.
House of Chihera uses 3D pattern technology to produce timeless contemporary clothing from African fabrics. The Lifestyle brand co-founded by Zimbabweans, has a tri-continental team of Zimbabweans and Kenyans who run the online store at houseofchihera.com.

To encourage more men to wear African Print, House of Chihera has launched a Men’s collection, dubbed “Zen. For Men”, ahead of the African Fashion Reception.

The Men’s Collection, which includes various African Print Shirt designs and shoes, will be available for sale on the online store at Houseofchihera.com. House of Chihera delivers worldwide, and buyers will only need to add to cart and follow the Fast and Easy buying process via the website.

The theme of this Men’s Collection is centred on a Bio Theme, with the different shirt designs taking up names inspired by different elements of the Cell. [Think Mitochondria- for that daily burst of energy 😉 ]. With this theme, this collection hopes to inspire Men around the world to get back to the basics and start living the life they desire. And live that life wearing African Print.

Both short and long-sleeved shirts are available in the collection, and while some are fully African Print to cater for the bold, others feature prints on the collar, chest or sleeves for a more refined look. This collection targets dashing Men of different ages who want to spruce up their wardrobes – Those who know what it means to be outstanding, and how to use African Print to get there.

The African Print shirts can be paired with Black trousers or Khaki pants depending on the print. Most shirts will work well for smart casual or business casual work environments, and they can be worn to Social gatherings, outings with family and friends. The shoes, which are in collaboration with the Kenyan brand V&S African Shoes, can be easily paired with Khaki or Denim. Tone down bold prints with neutral colours on the rest of the outfit.

Here are the pictures of some of the clothes they are selling.
