Glovo, an on demand delivery service has partnered with the National Transport and Safety Authority in a road safety campaign to train all riders using its platform on road safety.

The campaign, which aims to bolster road safety, is part of Glovo’s strategy to ensure high road safety standards as well as compliance with public transport regulations amongst riders using the Glovo platform.

William Benthall, the Glovo General Manager for Kenya, had this to say, “Glovo is a technology platform that links customers with independent couriers. We take this role as intermediary very seriously and we are doing what we can to help build capacity and ensure riders using our platform remain safe. As a company we emphasize proper road safety practices for riders using our platform. Public-private partnerships such as ours with the NTSA have been proven to work for medical reform, construction and many sectors in Kenya, and they are critical to the development of this sector.”

Glovo was founded in 2015 in Barcelona and has since then expanded operations to 3 continents i.e. Europe, Africa, and South America. The service is present in over 20 countries and more than 100 cities. In Africa it is available in Kenya, Morocco, Egypt, and Ivory Coast.
