Danish beer, Tuborg, was last week launched in the Kenyan market.
Tuborg Green is a bottom-fermented lager beer. It’s brewed on lager malt, a slightly roasted, bright type of malt which results in the well-known mild, fresh taste and aroma of flowers and cereal.
The beer is medium, rich and lively with a moderate bitterness in the aftertaste. Today, Tuborg has grown to become an international brand enjoyed in more than 70 countries as it is known for its exceptional quality and refreshing taste.
Speaking during the launch in Nairobi on Thursday, Mads Galsgaard, the General Manger Carlsberg Kenya said the company, which is the third largest brewer in the world, was excited and proud to launch the brand in Kenya.
He said that the brand will be empowering the music community from the ground up and once you open the drink you will at the same time be actively be supporting the local industry.
In Kenya, the beer will be packaged in a bottle that is different from those in other countries. The 500ml green bottle will have a gold colour instead of the usual green.
You also don’t have to hastle or wait for a bottle opener to come through for you to open the bottle. Tuborg comes with a uniquely shaped cap that allows you to just pull open in seconds and you can enjoy your drink!
Matteo Fantacchotti, Senior Director Urban Development, said that the beer offers the new generation of beer lovers a differentiated product. It is the perfect combination of strong and smooth.
The beer will be available in selected restaurants and establishments and in selected markets over the next few days.
Carlsberg also runs the 6-4-4 #CarlsbergCurriculum which sees customers buying 6 beers for the price of 4 at selected outlets around the country during the weekend so watch out for that. They could be coming to a pub near you!
