An armed suspect was arrested in industrial area recently following a tip off from members of the public.The suspect who has been identified as Abdullahi Edin was armed with two pistols and is suspected to have been on his way to commit a felony when he was arrested by officers from Lunga Lunga Administration Police post.
What’s odd about the incident, captured in the video below, was that the Administration Police officer was negotiating with the suspect and asking him to lie down instead of subduing him and removing the two firearms from his possession. The suspect, at one point, even attempted to snatch the officer’s firearm.
I am not privy to the kind of training our police officers get but it clearly needs to be reviewed because if this is how all police officers arrest suspects then they are clearly putting themselves and others at risk.
