Still A Mum has been accepted for the GlobalGiving Accelerator Program 2019. GlobalGiving is a foundation that enables members to crowdfund for their causes using their online fundraising platform.
GlobalGiving holds an accelerator at least twice a year where they train organizations on fundraising. This particular accelerator is dubbed ‘Giving Season Accelerator’ because it falls on December which is considered a giving season across the world. The accelerator is in two parts – a two- week’s training and a crowdfunding campaign that will run for a period of one month (3 rd -31 st December 2019). Following the two-week’s training curriculum that kicked off on 18 th November, participating organizations are required to raise a minimum of $5,000 from at least 40 different donors by the last day of the Accelerator.
The Still A Mum project aims at “Helping lower child death and offering outstanding support to bereaved parents”. Should they manage their target of $5000 from 40 donors, they will be permanently featured on Global Giving’s website where they will benefit from corporate relationships, associate with new donors and have access to online fundraising tools. Over and above that, they are hopeful that the funds will enable them hit their target of counseling at least 800 bereaved parents all over Africa in 2020.
Still A Mum needs our support in order to reach the $5,000 amount, as such they are calling upon donors to support them with donations through the website to reach their threshold and to share this opportunity with friends and family.
