Mercedes Benz Club in Kenya has something to smile about, as it has been recognized by Daimler Benz AG, the parent company of the Mercedes Benz brand. The certification was done by the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, Germany, becoming the second club in Africa (after South Africa) to achieve this prestigious milestone.

“We are excited that our journey to gain accreditation has come to an end. We are now the youngest club to join the league of clubs in the world,” Somolong, the head of Mercedes Benz club Kenya, said in a statement.

The club was founded in 2011 by Amon Somolong and Sam Oendo, who envisioned a community driven organization that brings together passionate Mercedes-Benz owners in Kenya.

The Club offers a unique platform where members share a number of aspects amongst each other including vehicle maintenance, technical knowledge about Mercedes and participate in charity drives across the country, to support certain initiatives that better the lives of the less fortunate in society.

This month , the club will be organizing a charity drive in support of young cancer patients admitted at the Kenyatta National Hospital’s Children’s Cancer Ward.
