You’ve probably seen her on your screens, her beautiful face glowing and her smile radiant. She’s the type of person, that even when you haven’t met her, you wish you would. Janet Kanini Ikua, the host of NTV’s N-Soko property show. Unfortunately, in April 2015, Janet was diagnosed with Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) that resulted in blood clots in her legs. The DVT led to further complications and Janet had to be urgently hospitalized a second time with blood clots in her heart and pulmonary artery. Even after this the DVT kept recurring and Janet decided to seek further intervention in India. In September, Janet, accompanied by her husband George Ikua, travelled to New Delhi, where she was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer, which had spread from her lungs to her abdomen and lymph nodes.
In support of Janet Kanini, NMG has organized a concert that will be held on 8th of November 2015, 12pm to 6pm, at the Carnivore Grounds in Nairobi and is aimed at raising funds towards her cancer treatment.
Tickets for the concert are available at TicketSasa and are going for Ksh. 1000 for adults and Ksh. 500 for children. We would like you to appeal to all Kenyans to join hands and support this noble cause. The concert will be hosted by Churchill, and will feature performances by Kenyan artistes including: Sauti Sol, P-Unit, Elani, Willy Paul, Juliani, Jaguar, Daddy Owen, Hart the band, and many other artists.
It is important to come together at this time, to be there for Janet Kanini Ikua, as both she and her loved ones require much needed support, love and encouragement during this difficult time; as well as join forces in the fight against cancer. We support the #IStandWithJanet campaign, in her treatment journey, through the rough patches that come with being unwell, to give her strength through support and prayers such that she may overcome this ailment.
