The weekend is about and after the week that was you probably want to unwind with some home-made cocktails to help take your mind off the hustle and bustle. At Beershara, we are dedicated to this cause and we have decided to compile a list of 10 cocktails you can quickly fix to help you get through the weekend.
1. Dawa
Ingredients
2 shots of vodka
3/4- 1 cup crushed ice
1/2 lime cut lengthwise into quarters and sliced 1/4 inch thick
1 tablespoon honey
Method
- Cut the lime into quarters and drop them in a short glass.
- Add the brown sugar and honey.
- Muddle a little (not too much) to release the flavors.
- Add a few ice cube.
- Pour in the vodka and stir.
2. Hangman’s Blood
Ingredients
1 1/4 oz gin
1 1/4 oz rum
1 1/4 oz whiskey
1 1/4 oz brandy
1 1/4 oz port
5 oz Guinness stout or stout beer
4 oz Champagne
Method
- Add all five shots to a pint glass.
- Top to desired level with stout beer, 5 oz is just about right.
- Fill to top of glass with champagne
Ingredients
4 ounces semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
2/3 cup brewed espresso, chilled
2/3 cup coffee liqueur, such as Kahlua
2/3 cup vanilla-flavored vodka
Ice
Method
- Combine the chocolate and 1/4 cup water in a small bowl and place over a pan of barely simmering water.
- Stir until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth, 2 minutes. Set aside to cool slightly.
- Dip the rims of 4 martini glasses into the melted chocolate, allowing any excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl.
- Chill the glasses in the freezer for 10 minutes.
- In a pitcher, mix together the espresso, coffee liqueur and vodka.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. In batches, add the vodka mixture and shake for 10 seconds.
- Strain the mixture into the prepared glasses and serve.
