Lumia-Black-update

A new Windows Phone 8 update is now available for Nokia Lumia devices. The update is called ‘The Lumia black update’ and it is currently only available for the Lumia 820, 920, 925 and 1020 according the Nokia Website.

Availability in Kenya- Lumia Black

To update your Lumia just go to Settings>Phone Updates>Check for Updates. It is advisable that you update on WiFi and that your phone be fully charged during the process.

The Lumia Black Update features

1. Nokia Glance screen 2.0

The Lumia Black update comes with an enhanced Glance Screen. It will have notifications for missed calls, new texts and instant messages, unread emails and more. There are new night-mode colours for the Glance Screen. Other enhancements include the ability to customise tones, close apps from the multi-tasking view, and lock the screen from rotating.

2. Updated Nokia Camera app

The new update comes with an updated Nokia Camera app that allows for three shooting modes: Video Recording, Nokia Camera (smart mode), and Nokia Pro Camera (pro mode). The Pro Camera mode allows to adjust the settings manually and therefore take better pictures and the smart mode will add effects to your shots.

The updated Nokia Camera update also brings raw DNG support for Lumia 1020 owners, something that’s already available for Lumia 1520.

3. Nokia Storyteller

This app arranges your photos by the date they were taken and then displays where the photos were taken on a map.

4. Nokia Beamer

The Nokia Beamer app will let you share your Lumia screen with an internet-connected TV or computer, or with another Lumia. The app is available for Lumia smartphones with over 1GB of RAM.

5. App Folder

This feature makes your Lumia experience even more fluid by giving you an option to further personalize and organize your Start screen. With App folders you can group similar apps and settings into one folder, a tile, on your Start screen.
