Blackberry messenger (BBM), the mobile social network that was previously exclusive to Blackberry smartphones, will begin rolling out for Android and iPhone users around the world from September 21. BBM will be available as a free download in Google Play and the App Store.
BBM for Android and iPhone features
- BBM Chat – Users will be able to chat with their friends as long as they have the BBM app.
- Sharing files – Users will be able to share files on your phone such as photos and voice notes.
- Group chats – Through BBM Groups, users will be able to invite up to 30 friends to chat together, share photos and schedules. Also, with Broadcast Message users can send a message out to all their BBM contacts at once.
- Status – BBM lets users post a personal message, profile picture and their current status.
- Unique PIN – Every BBM user has a unique PIN that maintains their privacy.
Availability
- BBM will be available as a free download for Android smartphones running Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean (Android 4.x) on September 21st.
- BBM for iPhones running iOS 6 and iOS 7 will become available for each market on the App Store on September 22nd.
