I got my hands on a Galaxy Note 8 Tab and first thing on my mind was to download some apps. Thought I would share my top 10 must have free android apps i.e those I just had to download first. So here goes (in no particular order).
Facebook is the most used social media site in the world and if you are not a member I have nothing to say to you. Just kidding though. The Facebook app on android is not so bad and helps those like me who don’t want to have to go via a browser.
This has to be one of the most used messenger app in the world. Everyone I know with a smartphone has whatsapp installed in their phones. It offers a cheap alternative to text though only works with people who also have it on their phones and are on your phone book.
Twitter
You’re not on twitter! What?! This is the second most used social media site and has a really awesome android app.
Opera mini
Current android platforms come with Google Chrome installed in it but if you’re old school Opera Mini does the job.
Antivirus
The choices for antiviruses are vast on the android app market though the most used are AVG and Avast. Android phones are the next most tempting target for the viruses and securing your phones is as important as securing your computer.
Adobe reader
If you read a lot of PDF then you definitely need a PDF reader and Adobe is up there.
GO SMS Pro
If you like customizing your SMS interface with various themes outside the “boring” one that comes with the android phone then you should get this app.
Amazon Kindle
If you’re a lover of books then this is the app for you.
Dropbox
If you need more space make sure you get this app. Though for me it came with the Tab.
Angry birds
This is one of my favorite mobile games so I just had to put it on the list
