Nairobi Innovation Week Startups is open for startups to send in their applications. Startups can now update their profiles on the NIW Startups online portal for consideration in 2019. The application deadline is 5th of April 2019. NIW. Startups will select 30 startups who will pitch their ideas during the 5th Nairobi Innovation Week and the 6 Most Promising Startups 2019 celebration. The 30 startups will learn from coaches and mentors. Also receive funding, network, get discovered by investors, partners, customers, mentors and the media.
For the already registered startups with profiles on the NIW.Startups portal to be considered in the 2019 programme they will have to update their profiles. This year’s theme of the Nairobi Innovation Week 2019 is, ‘Innovation and Kenya’s Big 4 Agenda.’ Startups in Agriculture and Food Security, Health and Life Sciences, Manufacturing and Processing, Innovative Housing, Cleantech and Renewable Energy, Education and Employability, Fintech, Governance and Civic Tech, Transport and Logistics, eCommerce and Business Services, Gaming and Entertainment and Hardware Innovations are qualified to apply.
The programme is open for both startups in their early stage and growth stage. Investors present in 2019 will include VC Funds, Angels and Foundations. Startup enablers will include hubs, incubators and advisors. Selected startups from more advanced ecosystems will be invited to participate. The NIW.Startups programme will bring together the startups ecosystem in Kenya and beyond.
Participating startups are expected to complete creating and updating their profiles and those of their team members for selection among the 30 startups to pitch during the Nairobi Innovation Week. Startups can here startups.niw.co.ke.
